The former Secretary General of NATO is “in the pocket” of the Armenian lobby – COMMENTARY

International News Desk

According to global Times Media Europe, The views expressed and behavior of Andres Fogh Rasmussen, the former Secretary General of NATO and currently the head of the political consulting company “Rasmussen Global” during his visit to Armenia, how low an experienced politician represented in the top management of the world’s largest military-political alliance is because of his personal interests. it shows how easily he has stooped, his political background, the principles and values he promotes, to sell on the market counter, and it is certainly regrettable.

Political expert Elchin Mirzabayli said these thoughts in his statement to Global times Media Europe. He said that Andres Rasmussen was the Prime Minister of Denmark in 2001-2009, the Secretary General of NATO in 2009-2014, and the adviser to the President of Ukraine in 2016-2019. “I don’t want to go into details, but the results of his advice as a counselor are obvious. In fact, Rasmussen is a veteran of both NATO and world politics, and as a politician who has repeatedly changed his position, abandoned his principles and, of course, completely lost his authority, he has no opportunity to influence the decisions of either the European Union or the North Atlantic Alliance in any way. there is no If this were not the case, Armenia and the Armenian diaspora would not have hoped for it, and it would have operated in the main directions announced by the company.

I would like to mention that the political consulting company “Rasmussen Global” of the former Secretary General of NATO prioritizes the renewable energy, oil and gas sector, including strategically important raw materials, technology and critical infrastructure, geopolitics and sovereignty, defense, aerospace research and other areas. Covers. In essence, the absolute majority of these fields, and perhaps all, have nothing to do with Armenia and its economy that resembles an empty well.

This means that there is no area where Andress Rasmussen’s company can “contribute” to the development of Armenia with its advice,” the political expert pointed out. According to E. Mirzabeylin, who noted that the concepts of “geopolitics” and “Armenia” are completely incompatible with each other, this also means that Rasmussen’s “services” are no longer needed in the European Union and NATO member countries. For this reason, the former Secretary General of a huge military-political alliance like the North Atlantic Alliance had to fulfill the mission of the PR manager of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan. This is a shameful end for a politician who became the Prime Minister of a country that is a member of the European Union and NATO, and the Secretary General of the Euro-Atlantic Alliance.

The political expert said that he was not surprised that Rasmussen had become Nikol Pashinyan’s PR manager. He said that after leaving politics, it is an ancient profession of Western politicians to take advantage of their political capital, influence and connections for business and lobbying activities. Rasmussen also shows that he is just one of the followers of this ancient profession. In fact, if we look at the identity of people working in the leadership of Andres Fogh Rasmussen’s political consulting company, it should not be surprising that he visited Armenia and made statements that were completely contrary to the statements he made during his tenure as the Secretary General of NATO.

The central offices of Rasmussen Global are located in Copenhagen and Brussels. The head of the Brussels office and the general director of the company as a whole is Fabrice Potier, one of the founders of French President Emmanuel Macron’s “Forward, the Republic” (La République En Marche) party. Potie’s friendship with Rasmussen dates back to when the former was director of NATO’s political planning department. Potier has close ties with Armenian organizations in both France and Belgium. One of the goals of Rasmussen’s visit to Armenia is the establishment of the South Caucasus representative office of “Rasmussen Global”. The establishment of the representative office is supported by the Armenian diaspora in France and Belgium, including Kasper Karampetyan, whose name is known to everyone in Azerbaijan. That is, the blessing of Rasmussen’s visit came from Macron, and the financial support came from Karampetyan. He received it from Ara Toronyan and other heads of Armenian organizations. In short, the former Secretary General of such a huge organization as NATO is “in the pocket” of the Armenian lobby.

One of the things that dragged him into the pocket of the Armenians is that he is fond of entertainment and was elected because of his special hatred towards Muslims. “When Fog Rasmussen was the Prime Minister of Denmark, he turned a blind eye to the continuous broadcasting of caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad in the media of his country and even stood up for the said media resources and declared that he did not intend to apologize to Muslims,” recalled Elchin Mirzabayli. In 2020,

the executive director of the bank, Vigo Krastinš, filed a lawsuit against the Secretary General of NATO and 8 other people represented in his “independent team”, for a total of 288 million euros, 32 million each. One of the notable points in the mentioned lawsuit is that among the operations agreed to by Rasmussen are the assets related to the unfinished “4Elements Borodino” Hotel located in the Moscow Region and the “Norvik” Universal Credit Organization operating in Armenia. Another interesting point is that the owner of the bank that Ramussen bankrupted is Grigory Guselnikov, a Russian businessman currently living in London, and the Secretary General of NATO was invited to the management of the bank “Norvik” (PNB) by him.”Apparently, it doesn’t matter who’s in his pocket for Andres Fogh Rasmussen. It is enough that it is more “deep”, – emphasized Elchin Mirzabayli.
