According to global Times news Agency Europe, In the last three months, 119,000 refugees returned from Iran to Afghanistan. “The Global Times Europe” informs with reference to “Tasnim” that this was stated by the head of the department for the affairs of immigrants in Nimruz province located in the south-west of Afghanistan, Mawlavi Abdullah Riaz. According to him, 65,000 Afghans returned to their country from Iran this month: Two months ago, 54,000 Afghan refugees returned to their homeland.

These numbers show that the number of people returning from the Nimruz border crossing has increased. After the Taliban government ensured national security in Afghanistan in recent months, the process of returning Afghan emigrants from other countries, especially Iran and Pakistan, has begun.

Experts believe that Iran is forcing Afghan refugees to return. One of the reasons for this is the non-resolution of the water problem between the two countries. It should be noted that the Tehran regime accuses the “Taliban” government of blocking water flowing from the Gilmand River to Iranian territory. The other side wants Iran to pay for the water it uses. Therefore, it is likely that the Tehran regime forces Afghan refugees to return to their country in order to put pressure on the authorities in Afghanistan. There are no exact statistics of Afghan refugees in Iran. It is claimed that this number is 500,000-900,000 people, and sometimes more.
