According to global Times news Agency Europe, Ukraine’s allies and partners have announced plans to train Ukrainian pilots in fourth-generation aircraft, including the F-16. In the coming weeks, the relevant training infrastructure will be prepared. The Global Times Europe reports that US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin made a statement about this at the meeting of the Contact Group on the Defense of Ukraine – “Ramstein” format. Today, allies and partners announced plans to train Ukrainian pilots on fourth-generation aircraft, including the F-16. These trainings are essential for contact group coordination,” Austin added. Austin especially thanked Denmark and the Netherlands, which lead the coalition in the field of training Ukrainian pilots.
In the coming weeks, Denmark and the Netherlands will cooperate with other partners, such as Norway, Poland, Belgium, and Portugal, who have agreed to join this project. We look forward to others joining this important mission. Starting this pilot training now is an important example of our commitment to support Ukraine. The training infrastructure will be developed in the coming weeks,” the US defense secretary added.
